The Swedish Film Institute and European Film Promotion (EFP) has appointed SF Studios’ producer Jon Nohrstedt to represent Sweden as Producer on the Move during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. He will be joined by 19 other of Europe’s most interesting and upcoming young producers to participate in various workshops and seminars during the festival and be given the opportunity to network and exchange experiences and ideas.

Jon Nohrstedt is a producer and has studied at the production training program at The Swedish Dramatic Institute. Since 2011, he is an inhouse film producer at SF Studios, where he has produced Bamse and the City of Thieves (2014), Bamse and the Witches Daughter (2016), Janus Metz’ award-winning feature film Borg/McEnroe (2017), and Bamse and the Thunder Bell (2018). Currently, Jon Nohrstedt is developing a feature film based on Martin Widmark’s children’s book character Nelly Rapp and is producing a newly scripted animated adventure about Toby No-Tail (Pelle Svanslös) with a scheduled January 2020 release. The film is directed by Christian Ryltenius and co-produced by Gila Bergqvist Ulfung.

– I am very glad and deeply honored to be nominated as Producer on the Move and to be part of such a fine network of film producers that this entails. On a personal level this will give me an opportunity to increase my international network and find cooperation possibilities and support in realizing future film projects, says Jon Nohrstedt.

The European Film Promotion (EFP) is a network of professional film organizations from 38 European countries with expertise in marketing and promotion of each country’s films. The main purpose of the organization is to cooperate to support and promote European talent and film internationally. EFP was founded in 1997 and is supported by Creative Europe Media. The 2019 Producers on the Move event is the 20th consecutive edition in Cannes.
