Films awarded funding from the Swedish Film Institute include documentary Possibility of Paradise recently screened in Venice, an emigrant drama featuring John C. Reilly and Gustav Lindh, and a biopic about Mother Teresa starring Noomi Rapace.

Mother by Teona Mitevska is a biopic about Mother Teresa, played by Noomi Rapace. The film is a co-production between Sweden and The Republic of North Macedonia.

The Love That Remains, with direction, screenplay and cinematography by Hlynur Pálmason (Godland) is an Icelandic-Swedish co-production. The film follows Anna (Saga Garðarsdóttir) and Magnus (Sverrir Gudnasson) over the course of a year, as they navigate their separation and strive to find a work-life balance.

A Prayer for the Dying is a Norwegian-Swedish drama, the first feature-length film for writer and director Dara Van Dusen. The film is set in Wisconsin in the 1870s, where a Norwegian immigrant is forced to make some tough decisions during the American Civil War. The cast includes John C. Reilly and Gustav Lindh.

Mladen Kovačević’s Serbian-Swedish documentary Possibility of Paradise recently screened at the Venice International Film Festival. It is about the quest for happiness, with a score by Rebekka Karijord.

The Visitor is a Lithuanian-Swedish co-production by first-feature director Vytautas Katkus. Following his father’s death, Danielius returns to Lithuania to sell the apartment he grew up in. Life crises and nostalgia come together, with humour, as he resumes contact with the people from his past.
