With seven wins, Shame On Dry Land, written and directed by Axel Petersén, makes Guldbagge Awards history. The previous record, six awards, was shared by three films: Ruben Östlund's Force Majeure (2014) and Triangle of Sadness (2022), and Ali Abassi's Border (2018).

Awarded annually since 1964, the Guldbagge ("Golden Beetle") is the name of the Swedish Film Institute's award for achievements during the previous year. The award itself, in the form of a fantastical beetle, was designed by the artist Karl Axel Pehrson. 

The 2024 Guldbagge Awards show was produced by The Swedish Film Institute with Leroy Media and Sveriges Television.
