Tonight, all winners of the 2026 Guldbagge Awards were announced at Cirkus in Stockholm. Tarik Saleh’s Eagles of the Republic, which premiered in the Cannes main competition, was named Best film and emerged as the evening’s biggest winner, taking home six Guldbagge awards in total. Kevlar Soul and Raptures followed with two awards each.
The Guldbagge nominations for the 2025 film year were announced today at a press conference at Filmhuset in Stockholm. Sweden’s Oscar submission, Eagles of the Republic by Tarik Saleh, leads the way with a total of 11 nominations. Andreas Öhman’s 7 Steps and Jon Blåhed’s Raptures follows with eight nominations each, while Kevlar Soul by Maria Eriksson-Hecht received seven.
Maria Tórgarð, Johanna Milerud and Theodor Solin have been selected for the Swedish Film Institute’s initiative Wild Card, sharing a total of SEK 1.2 million to develop their feature film projects.
