Newly restored 4K versions of Jan Troell’s classics The Emigrants (Utvandrarna, 1971) and The New Land (Nybyggarna, 1972) will be screened at the 40th edition of Il Cinema Ritrovato, the world’s leading festival dedicated to film heritage and archival cinema.
More than 13,000 photographs related to the films of Ingmar Bergman have been digitized and made accessible by the Film Institute's Stills and Posters archive. The unique collection includes both production stills and behind-the-scenes photographs, many of which are being published and shown for the first time.

It’s a match: Eight teams of producers and writers have come together as part of the Nordic NEST and are now working across borders on their film and series treatments. The program by MOIN Film Fund, the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and the Five Nordics is thereby entering the screenplay phase – the three best projects will be announced during the Cannes Film Festival.
CPH:DOX is one of the world’s most important documentary film festivals, where Swedish productions continue to maintain a strong presence. Tonight, all winners of the 2026 Guldbagge Awards were announced at Cirkus in Stockholm. Tarik Saleh’s Eagles of the Republic, which premiered in the Cannes main competition, was named Best film and emerged as the evening’s biggest winner, taking home six Guldbagge awards in total.
